We are seeking a Senior Innovation Scientist to help support the BioNutrients Division in the areas of Analytical Chemistry and Biological Process Improvement. They will be directly involved in the planning and execution of a broad range of new product development projects, providing technical support to manufacturing, and promote sales through direct customer contacts. 

What you’ll do:

• Lead development and implementation of new and existing methods with HPLC, LC-MS for biological product characterization and quantification. 
• Interface between analytical chemistry and fermentation to identify targeted compounds for next generation product development and provide application support. 
• Design and execute experiments using chemical engineering fundamentals, leveraging tools like JMP, while keeping end in mind. 
• Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges by applying analytical support and engineering principles to promote shared learning. 
• Showcase technical capabilities to internal and external stakeholders and customers. 
• Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to junior scientists, including direct support on experimental execution and data interpretation. 

What you’ll bring: 

• MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or a related field 
• Minimum of 1 years with PhD or 4 years with MS of industrial experience in a laboratory research setting 
• Demonstrated experience with HPLC, LC-MS/Q-TOF, enzymatic reactions, fermentation, bioprocess scale-up 
• Experience with an analytical method development, instrument maintenance and performance assessments, fermentation/reaction engineering 
• Preferred experience with sterile techniques, JMP or similar modeling/design tools a plus 
• Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams in inclusive and collaborative environments

The salary range for this position is $107,000 - $130,000 USD.  Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families.  This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive pay.
