General Accountant

We are looking for a General Accountant to join our team in King's Lynn. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, international environment and contribute to accurate financial reporting and process excellence. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of product costs on the inventory cost system and for seeking ways to better serve internal and external customers.

What you’ll do:

• Maintain the General Ledger of the Industrial UK and Pointing Companies
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial accounts and reports
• Develop and improve accounting controls

• Oversee external preparation of statutory accounts for Sensient UK and the Pointing group at each financial year end.

• Liaise with External Auditors and HMRC

• Prepare and review month end reconciliations

• Attend and participate in regular meetings with BU managers and represent the Finance function in Site Coordination Meetings to review and discuss key KPI’s and the company performance and areas for improvement
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and liaise with Site and Group Engineering to drive Capital Spend progress
• Oversee the payroll process for the company
• Be the onsite back-up for the Finance director

What you’ll bring: 

• Professional Accountancy Qualification or Qualified by Experience
• Previous experience in a similar position in a manufacturing environment
