Junior Accountant, New Zealand

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team. This role encompasses various Finance related tasks and critical for managing vendor relationships and ensuring accurate financial records. 

This exciting opportunity is 100% office-based at Mount Wellington Office, Auckland, New Zealand.

What you will do: 

• Accounts Payable: Processing high-volume supplier invoices (domestic and foreign) and executing payment runs.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Liaising with internal Departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and handling supplier queries professionally.
• Financial Administration: Performing bank reconciliations, supporting AR debtor follow-ups, and maintaining appropriate filing. Assisting with accruals, prepayments, and expense reconciliations
• Compliance & Audit: Ensuring adherence to internal controls, company policies, and assisting with external and internal audit preparation

What you will bring: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent education
• Technical Accounting Skills: Strong understanding of AP processes, 3-way matching, and bookkeeping basics.
• Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting systems (e.g., JDE, MYOB, or ERPs) and advanced MS Excel.
• Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy to avoid payment errors and maintain records.
• Communication: Effective communication skills for interacting with internal departments and vendors.
• Experience: Generally 2+ years of experience in an accounts payable or finance assistant role.
