Cost Accountant

The Cost & Pricing Accountant is responsible for collecting, analyses and reporting on cost accounting data, preparation and analysis of sales prices. This includes preparing standard cost reports, monitoring inventory levels, cost comparisons, product costing analysis, tracking variances and making journal entries, entries of standard cost and customer prices in ERP system. 

What you’ll do:

• Research material costs to ensure the accuracy of the information in the company’s accounting system
• Analyse manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
• Participate in physical inventory counts to ensure the accuracy of inventory records and collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure cost control measures are in place
• Monitor the accumulation of all direct labour, overhead and other manufacturing-related expenses
• Develop and maintain standard costs for products and services and conduct variance analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Preparation of monthly product/customer profitability reports as well as customer minimum sales price and transfer price lists and their entry in ERP system
• Investigate discrepancies in financial records and perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations

What you’ll bring: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in same or similar position
• Problem solving nature, attention to detail, punctual and organized
• Exceptional ability to think critically and make decisions based on data analysis
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in discussing financial reports with company stakeholders
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools, JDE Edwards /US GAAP knowledge is plus
