Innovation Technician

The Innovation Technician ensures a flexible product development in line with market needs, yet also a continuous technological optimization of the existing product range. A key element of this role will be to systematically analyze and evaluate the stability of natural coloring formulations to enhance and simplify application for our customers in the food and beverage industry. Within this role you will be expanding your expertise on existing and novel natural dye formulations as well as on analytical detection methods.

What you’ll do:

• Conducting laboratory tests and analysis to facilitate the formulation and production of natural food colorings in support of the other Innovation team members
• Conducting and documenting stability tests
• Ensuring smooth day-to-day laboratory operations (e.g., taking care of supplies and laboratory aids, raw material stock, equipment maintenance and calibration)
• Implementation and update of new product developments and raw materials in the existing database systems
• Implementation and update of QC test plans for new product developments and raw materials in the LIMS
• Development and optimization of analytical test methods
• Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment and measuring instruments
• Supporting the manufacturing of laboratory samples and small-scale production runs for initial customer inquiries, as well as supporting initial production runs and the corresponding scale-up process, including documentation

What you’ll bring:

• Ideally a 3-year vocational training or equivalent experience as a chemical laboratory technician
• Several years of professional experience in a laboratory (R&D) in the food industry
• Capability to analyze problems and opportunities and provide creative solutions 
• Ability to work in laboratory and manufacturing plant conditions
• German and English fluency is crucial and would allow you to collaborate and communicate effectively inside and outside the organization
